Steve Robie age 100, formerly of 5605 West Ridge Road, Fairview passed away Saturday, May 18, 2013 at Carlisle Manor near his daughter's home in Carlisle, PA.

He was born in Erie May 30, 1912, son of the late Michael and Pearl Brzezinski Robanzkiewicz.

He attended East High School, Erie, PA.

Mr. Robie worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad from 1940 to 1960 and then for the Burton Funeral Home from 1962 to his retirement in 1970.

He was a member of Holy Cross RC Church, Fairview, PA where he served as the oldest alter server for many years.

He was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus, he enjoyed hobbies of golf, woodworking and gardening.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary E. Quirk Robie in 2003, brothers, Edward, Raymond and Henry Robie, sisters, Theresa Cheisa and Catherine Wernikowski.

Survivors include two daughters: Patricia Middendorf and her husband William, of Dillsburg, PA and Phyllis Smith and her husband Albert, of Charlotte, NC, eight grandchildren: Michael Middendorf and his wife Joanne, of Powell, OH; Colleen McCann and her husband Trey, of West Minster, MD; Mark Middendorf, of Arlington, VA; Patricia Middendorf, of Arlington, VA; Jacqueline DeCorte and her husband Donald, of Pittsburgh; Kimberly Smith, of Euclid, OH; Jeffrey Smith and his wife Kerry, of Boise, ID; Kevin Smith and his wife Tracy, of Holland, PA; twelve great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, three brothers: John Roeback of Erie; Leo Robie of Florida; Dr. Richard Robie of Mentor, OH; and one sister, Helen Godzwa, of Erie.

Friends may call at the Burton Westlake Funeral Home, 3801 West 26th St (at Powell Ave) on Tuesday from 6 to 8p.m.and are invited to attend a Mass of Christian burial at Holy Cross Church, 7100 West Ridge Road on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. J. Thomas Dugan, Celebrant.

Interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
