Stella Hecker

Stella T. (Czurzman) Hecker age 87, passed away Friday, March 21, 2014 at St. Mary’s West. She was born in Albion, Pa. on March 22nd, 1925, the daughter of the late Jacob and Anastazia Borys Czurzman.

Stella graduated from Albion High School, Class of 1943. She then went to Cleveland and worked for a while and then returned to Erie where she was employed at the Erie Insurance Exchange for a few years then went to the General Electric Co. for many years until her retirement. She was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Girard and loved to play the organ, work with ceramics and make gifts for family and friends.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Eugene; twin brother, Stephen Czurzman; her sisters, Pauline Mihalak Popa and Julie Mazanec and a brother, Nick Czurzman. She is survived by her step children, Owen Hecker (Christine), Boyd Hecker and wife Lorena and Fae J. Safer and her husband Brian of Allentown. She is further survived by seven nieces, two nephews and several great nieces and nephews.
