Stacey Rai Wyant (Shuman), 46, of Oakwood St., Erie, PA, crossed over to The Other Side on Monday, November 11, 2024, at AHN St. Vincent Hospital. She will be sorely missed.
Stacey was born to Bill and Carol (Donovan) Wyant on February 21, 1978, in Meadville, PA; she was the baby of the family, growing up with siblings Christopher, Leslie, and Shelly.
Graduating from Maplewood Jr/Sr High School in the Townville, PA area, Stacey was a very hard worker, fun to be around, and a terrific friend to many over her lifetime. She was happy, smart and clever and always put everything she had into her work, proudly bartending at Butch’s Pub in Blooming Valley, driving countless miles for Prestige Delivery Co, cooking and tending bar at Hunter’s Inn, Guys Mills, and working second shift at the 26th & Greengarden Country Fair in Erie. She was a very accomplished crochet artist and it was a rare occurrence if she ever lost at any card game. Her favorite things were drinking pots and pots of coffee while playing games of any type, most especially cards and enjoying long talks with family and friends about everything from spirituality to her keen interest in science and space, music and race cars. She loved the shows “Dr. Who,” “Charmed,” and would watch any episode of “Bones” anytime. She was a fabulous cook with her most famous dishes being lasagna, muffin-meatloaf, and “Funky Beans.” One could never really get a recipe from her, though, because she never measured and rarely wrote anything down.
Stacey will be constantly thought of with love by her family and friends, including her daughter, Alyssa Wyant, of North Carolina; her fiancée Keith Clinton, Sr, his parents, Raymond E. and Arlene V. Clinton (both deceased); her stepson, Ray Clinton Jr. and granddaughter, Apryl J. Clinton; her father, Bill Wyant and his wife, Kathryn; her best friend of many years, Heather Brown, and her beloved fur-family, dog, Buford and cats, Apollo and Artemis. She is also survived by her siblings, Chris Wyant, Leslie Wyant (Sulz), Shelly (Wyant) Hollabaugh and her husband, Terry; as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her first daughter, Kayla Marie DeJohn (Jason) and first husband, John Alex Shuman.
A Celebration of Life will be held later at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Stacey are suggested to the care of Burton Quinn-Scott Cremation & Funeral Services, 602 West 10th St, Erie, PA 16502.
