Signe "Betty" Webb

Signe E. “Betty’ Sandstrom Parson Webb, 99, of Erie, passed away, Saturday, February 24, 2018 at Pleasant Ridge Manor West.  She was born on May 1, 1918 a daughter of Eric J. Sandstrom and Signe V. Anderson Sandstrom.  She married Edward Clarence Parson on August 9, 1940 he preceded her in passing in 1958; she subsequently married John T. Webb on December 26, 1959 he also preceded her in passing in 2004.  

 
She was a 1936 graduate of Strong Vincent High School where she was a member of the National Honor Society.  From 1936 to 1940 she worked as a Stenographer for Pennsylvania Telephone Corporation; and also had worked as an aid for Congressman Kerns and at the Department of Veterans Affairs at the Erie County Court House.
 
Betty was a member of Luther Memorial Church, East Erie Turners, and belonged to the Beta Sigma Bridge Club.
 
She enjoyed playing cards, traveling, gardening especially roses, and every time you walking into her house to were always offered a Coca-Cola or a cookie.
 
Betty is survived by her daughters, Linda Parson Soles of Lawrence Park; Carolyn Parson Karrfalt and her husband Alan of Noblesville, IN, Joan Parson Krasinski and her husband Walter of Tega Cay, SC, Sharon Gornall and her husband Jack of Erie, Alice Ann Lee and her husband David of Palo Alto, CA, and Bette Lou Ryan and her husband Nelson of Miami, FL; a sister, Edith Christenson of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; 25 grandchildren; 45 great grandchildren; 10 great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
 
In addition to her husbands, Edward and John; she was preceded in death by her parents; a son, John T. Webb; and a sister, Helen Bellingham.
 
Family and friends are welcome to call on Thursday, March 1st from 3:00pm to 7:00pm at  Scott Funeral Home, 2104 Myrtle Street, Erie.  The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, March 2nd at 10:00am with Reverend William Coleman of Luther Memorial Church, officiating.
 
Burial will follow in Erie Cemetery, 2116 Chestnut Street, Erie.

The family would like to thank the Unit A Caregivers especially Sue, Sherry, Jeff, and Danny who she called “her boys”, nurses, Dr. Wick, and support staff at Pleasant Ridge Manor for the quality care, compassion, and love they gave our mom while in their care.
