Shirley Whipple

Shirley Whipple, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, March 12, 2025.

Shirley was a fabulous cook, a talented artist, and avid gardener with a passion for cultivating African violets.

Shirley was the cafeteria manager at Our Lady Christian School for many years and was renowned for her pizza. The students always looked forward to pizza day.

Shirley was funny, sweet, kind and always the prettiest girl in the room.

Shirley was the beautiful bride of John O. “Jack” Whipple for 67 years and was the last of the Frank sisters.

Shirley is survived by her seven children: John Whipple, Susan McConnell (Ronald), Bill Whipple, Kathy Whipple (Dan), Mary O’Neil (Doug), Patricia Mannion and Rob Whipple (Jeanne). She is also survived by eight grandchildren: Ashley George (Nic), Laura Baldwin (Isaac), Douglas O’Neil (Ashley Marie), Kevin McConnell (Gina), Jesse Lynch, Nate Mannion, Samantha Mannion and Jacob Mannion; 10 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
