Shirley Rose Taccone

Shirley Rose Taccone, 98, of Harborcreek passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 10, 2024 after an extended illness. She was born in Birmingham, Alabama on December 28,1925 to Marion and Hazel (Mattina) Taccone. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Marion and Donald, and her beloved husband Russell Taccone, to whom she was married for 52 years. 

Shirley was a selfless person with a beautiful smile and a lovely singing voice. She spent her life caring for her family and was devoted to her Catholic faith. A loving and dedicated daughter, wife, and grandmother, she always put others before herself. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. We are left to cherish the many happy memories of this beautiful and inspiring woman.

Shirley is survived by her four sons; Russell (Debbie), and David (Sue) of Erie, Douglas, of Baltimore, MD and Paul (Alexandra) Taccone of La Jolla, CA. In addition, she is survived by eight grandchildren, Alan, Jonathan (Tricia), Emily Grab (Patrick), Bethany Divell (Eric), Lauren, Leah, Nicolas and Rocco and six great -grandchildren, Connor, Carter, Chase, and Cody Grab, Isabelle Taccone, and Camilla Divell, along with many nieces and nephews.

The family also wishes to recognize the supportive staff of The Residence at Presque Isle Bay and members of the Interim Hospice team who cared for Shirley in her final days.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, February 16, 2024 at 11:00AM at Mt. Calvary Catholic Church 2022 East Lake Rd. with visitation prior from 10:00-11:00AM. Burial will be held at Mary, Queen of Peace cemetery immediately following mass.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Interim Hospice or the charity of one's choice. Arrangements by the Burton Quinn Scott Cremation and Funeral Services, Downtown, 602 W.10th St., Erie.
