Shirley Mae Swan

May 14, 1925 — June 25, 2023

Shirley Mae Wagner Swan, age 98, of Erie, passed away on Sunday, June 25, 2023 at LECOM Senior Living Center with her family by her side.

She was born in Erie, on May 14, 1925, a daughter of the late Lela (Vaughn) and Lester Wagner.

Shirley was a lifelong, devoted member of the congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. One of her favorite scriptures to share was Psalm 37 verse 11 “The meek will possess the earth and they will find exquisite delight in the abundance of Peace.”

Jehovah will keep his Faithful Servant in his memory until she is reunited with all her loved ones in the very near future.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Donald M. Swan; step-mother, Mary Baierski Wagner; a sister, Linda Szorek and her husband Jerry; and a grand-daughter, Savannah McKibbin.

Shirley is survived by a son, Les Swan (Rose), of Erie; a daughter, Kim Borreli (John), of Erie; two grandchildren, Ryan Borreli and Jacob Swan (Kendra); as well as great grandchildren, Miles and Mela McKibbin and their father, Zachary.

A special thanks to Melodie Miller-Chludzinski for all her kindness and care for Shirley and her family.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Burton Quinn-Scott Funeral Home, West Ridge, 3801 West 26th Street. Burial will be private in Laurel Hill Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
