Shirley A. Post, age 84, passed away on Sunday, August 23, 2015 at Forbes Regional Hospital.
She was born on September 13, 1930, in Erie, PA, a daughter of the late Otto and Elizabeth Reichel Noak.
Shirley was a graduate of East High School and worked as a secretary at the Zem Zem Temple Shrine Club.
Shirley was actively involved at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ; serving on council, woman’s groups, choir, and secretary. Her passion for singing led her to be a member of the former Millcreek Women’s Chorus. An avid baseball fan, Shirley was a Seawolves season ticket holder since 1994 and loved to watch the Detroit Tigers.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Richard in 2004 and her four sisters.
Survivors include her daughter Kim (David ) Perry of Pittsburgh, PA; two sons Craig (Denise) Post of Erie, PA and David Post of South Carolina. Five grandchildren Matthew (Abby) Perry, Marissa (Jesse) Sherrill, Elizabeth (Ryan ) Smith, Shannon and Cristen Post. Four great granddaughters and several nieces and nephews further survive.
Friends may call at Burton Westlake Funeral Home 3801 West 26th Street (at Powell Ave) on Thursday between the hours of 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. and are invited to attend a service there on Friday at 11 a.m.
Private burial will be at the convenience of the family in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
