Shirley Podlasek

Shirley May (Post) Marx Podlasek, age 79, passed away on Wednesday, October 11, 2017. She resided at the Sarah Reed Senior Living in Erie, PA for three years. She was born in Greenfield Township, PA on November 11, 1937, a daughter of the late Arthur Thomas and Emma Fern Chesley Post.

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert J. Podlasek, brothers, Lester and Clarence Post and an infant sister.

Shirley is survived by one daughter, Deanna Lindner of Erie, one son, Stephen Marx and his wife Ann of Girard, PA and one stepson, Robert Podlasek.  Shirley is also survived by her grandchildren who she loved very much, Sara, Becky, Stephanie, Philip, Daniel and Christopher and one great-grandchild Stella.  She has also one brother, Lawrence Post and his wife Carol of Stockton, NY, one sister, Beatrice Odell of Ripley, NY and many cousins and friends. 

Shirley retired from Yorktown Giant Eagle. She also sold Avon and worked at Dahlkempers. She enjoyed playing cards, bingo, going to the casinos, puzzles, dancing and polka music. Shirley so much enjoyed her neighbors and friends throughout her life.

The family would like to thank the staff at Sarah Reed Senior Living for the excellent care she received over the years.

Friends may call at the Burton Westlake Funeral Home, 3801 West 26^th Street, (at Powell Avenue) on Friday, October 13^th, 2017 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.  A prayer service and burial will be private.
