God can and will do whatever He wants, and often times He does it suddenly. Suddenly, He called the most radiant angel home to be with Him and King Jesus! Shirley Ann Martin, age 54, of Erie, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at UPMC Hamot. She was born in Erie on May 14, 1959 daughter of the late L.E. and Mary Lou Dixon Martin.
Shirley was a Tech-Memorial High School graduate and had attended college. She was a homemaker and had been employed with GECAC and also at Metro Health Center.
She was everybody’s “Nana”; she loved to do tax preparation; she loved Pastor Shirley Caesar; barbequing, baking, especially her signature Pecan pies. She enjoyed watching television, especially “Murder She Wrote” and “In the Heat of the Night”. She enjoyed crossword puzzles. She loved her grandchildren and her very present Church family at Cornerstone Liberty Community Church.
Shirley is survived by her two daughters Tiffanie Page-Collazo (John), and ChanSena Martin; her grandchildren, Jamahad Martin, Lucas Martin, and JaTahyia Stevens and a great grandson; her 12 siblings, Willie Martin, Catherine Thames, Eddie Martin (Judy), Mary Martin, Stella Martin, Etta Martin, Edward Martin (Regina), Loretta Green, Evelyn Martin, Cora Harper (James), Marsha Martin, and Anthony Martin.
Viewing and internment will be private with Pastor Sonny Concepcion. Arrangements entrusted to the Burton Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 602 W. 10th Street Erie, PA 16502. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family c/o the funeral home.
