Sheldon Patterson

Sheldon “Pat” Patterson, age 82, of Erie, died unexpectedly Saturday, February 15, 2014 at Saint Vincent Health Center. Born in Plumville, PA on September 7, 1931 a son of the late Clyde and Clara Rankin Patterson.

Sheldon graduated from East High School and then graduated the Blacksmith Program from Cornell University.

He was a self-employed Blacksmith and horse trainer; he taught his daughter training, riding and caring for horses; he would watch every moment of her riding from her youth. He was legendary in his abilities with horses and it did not matter the time of day he would help everyone thru an issue regarding their horse.

In addition to his parents Sheldon was preceded in death by two sisters; Charlotte “Pat” Patterson Richardson and her husband Ed and Doris DeAngelo and her husband Tony; his brother in law, Norman Ketchel; and many nieces and nephews.

He is survived by his wife, Pamela Stannard Patterson; his daughter, Stephanie Patterson and Josh Blakeslee, of Erie; his sister Adele Ketchel, of Millcreek and his brother, Clifford Patterson and his wife Belle, of Cambridge Springs.
