Shana Boothe

Shana D. Boothe, age 57, of Girard, passed away Friday, March 25, 2016 at UPMC Hamot.

She was born in Madison, West Virginia on September 28, 1958, a daughter of the late Billy Ralph Boothe and Orletta June (Anderson) Boothe Powell.

Shana graduated from Big Creek High School in War, West Virginia in 1976. After completing college courses, she worked in McDowell County (West Virginia) as a B.S.U worker with children with special needs. After moving to Pennsylvania, Shana worked at Pleasant Ridge Manor for 23 years, giving countless hugs, unconditional love and excellent care and always a beautiful smile to the residents. She was still actively working at Pleasant Ridge.

She loved going to yard sales. Shana will be remembered for her love of her children and grandchildren and always reaching out to those in need.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters: Leona Boothe and April Moore; two brothers: Billy Ralph Boothe Jr. and Kerry Boothe; and a nephew, Kory Perry.

Shana is survived by two daughters: Cirsti Boothe and Kayla Boothe (Adam Wentling), all of Girard; grandhchildren: Mikaila Boothe, Devon Boothe, Kay and Tyler Wentling; brothers: Tommy Dale Boothe and his wife Sue of Salem, VA; Joey Boothe (Stacey) of Girard; a sister, Misty Powell of Erie; and her favorite brother in law, Arnold “Paul” Moore of Girard. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, especially Kim and Carol; as well as her fur babies.

Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home, 525 Main St. East in Girard on Friday, April 1st from 5 pm until the time of the service at 7 pm.

Memorials may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
