Shalanda Butts

Shalanda Meon Butts age 31, of Erie, transitioned Monday, May 18, 2015 at Select Specialty Hospital in Erie.

She was born in McComb, MS on March 16, 1984 a daughter of Jose Alonzo and Tracy Butts Quinn.

She was a graduate of Collegiate Academy High School and attended Penn State Behrend.

Shalanda worked at UPMC Hamot for 10 years, starting as a food service worker and worked her way up to be the head secretary of the NICU at Hamot’s Women’s Hospital.

She was a member of the Christian Ministries of the Apostolic Faith Church, received the Holy Spirit, and was baptized as a teenager. Shalanda was a part of many ministries, such as the youth choir and the mime team. Shalanda had a very big heart. She will be remembered by her countless acts of kindness. She was a giving, loving person who seemed to keep a contagious smile on her face. Shalanda spent the last five years of her life loving her daughter Elaudia unconditionally.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Elaudia Cruz and Angel Alonzo, her maternal great grandparents John and Dollisker Bennett.

Shalanda is survived by her mother Tracy Butts Quinn and her husband District Elder Frank Quinn, her father Jose Alonzo and her stepmother Jody Wozniak; her children Elaudia Jane Jones and Alecia Crockett; her brothers and sisters: Cordel Quinn, Mauri Quinn, Michelle Quinn, Monique Quinn, Shanequa Quinn, Kyle Quinn, Sharaya Quinn and Sharease Quinn; her stepsisters and step brother: Dawn Gatling (Chris) of Dallastown, PA; Robert Crockett (Courtnie) of Erie, Peggy Holman of Erie; her maternal grandparents Johnnie Butts and Randolph Butts, Sr., aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call on Saturday at the Greater Bethlehem Temple Church, 4103 Washington Ave., from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 12 noon. Burial at Erie Cemetery.
