Scott Mohra, age 47, of Fairview, lost his courageous fight against cancer, on Friday, July 27, 2018 at his residence, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Meadville, PA on April 13, 1971, a son of Robert E. and Pamela A. Probst Mohra.
Scott was a 1989 graduate of Linesville High School. He served in the United States Navy for 8 years and also was part of a search and rescue Aircrew. He received his Associate’s Degree in Nursing from Penn State University. He worked as a nursing supervisor for many years at the PA Soldiers and Sailors Home, where he had a passion for caring for people.
Scott enjoyed hunting, fishing and was a handy-man who always helped others. He also enjoyed coaching his boys in football and wrestling. Above all else, family was most important to Scott, he was very proud of his boys.
He was preceded in death by his infant brother, Douglas R. Mohra and his maternal grandparents, Paul D. and Phyllis A. Probst and his paternal grandparents, Edward J. and Virginia M. Mohra.
Scott is survived by his wife, Julie Lagana Mohra, three sons, Trevor Mohra and his fiancée Krystie Pytlarz, Christopher Mohra and Brady Mohra, all of Fairview, a sister, Stacy Ryan and her husband Scott, of Chardon, OH, two nieces and a nephew, Kori and Kaden Ryan and Hollyn Lagana and his parents-in-law, William and Kimberly Lagana.
Friends may call at the Burton Westlake Funeral Home, 3801 West 26th Street, (at Powell Avenue,) on Tuesday, July 31, 2018, from 2 to until the time of service there at 7 p.m. with the Reverend Barbara Brown officiating, and Full Military Honors.
The family wishes to thank everyone for their love, care and concern over the years.
