Sarah Maio

Sarah Ann Maio, age 55 of Lake City, passed away Saturday, May 31, 2014 at her residence following a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born in Erie on June 23, 1958 the daughter of the late Andrew R. and Edith Davis Maio.

Sarah was a 1976 graduate of McDowell High School and received her Bachelor in Criminal Justice from Mercyhurst College. She was an avid Buffalo Bills Fan and enjoyed going to yard sales with her friend Peg. She will be sadly missed by her friends and family and will forever be remembered as being a wonderful mother to her daughters.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her grandmother Sarah Maio; and her lifelong companion Gregory Swift in February of 2014.

She is survived by two daughters: Aja Christian and Tara Christian of Lake City; two brothers Kirk Maio and his wife Edna of West Springfield and Burt Maio of Millcreek; her dear friends Kristy Smith, Peg Bibo and Susan Barker; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at 4pm. at the Fairview Presbyterian Church, 4264 Avonia Road with Rev. Charles Cammarata officiating.
