Sara Wright

Sara E. Kelly Goudy Wright, age 72, of Erie, Pa., went to be with the Lord, surrounded by her family on May 7, 2014. Sara was born in Laurel, Mississippi on November 18, 1941. She was the daughter of the late Edward Kelly and Ethel Barnett Kinnard. She was a graduate of East High School. In addition to raising her children, Sara worked as a seamstress for Coyne Textile Services, and as a telephone operator for Telatron Marketing Group, until her retirement. Sara was a member of Second Baptist Church. She enjoyed bingo, watching movies, and especially spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Sara was preceded in death by her husband, William E. Wright, a daughter, Monique Nixon, her sister, Gloria Amos, and a granddaughter Jacentae Goudy. Sara is survived by two daughters, Rachelle Wilson (Brian) of Cleveland, Ohio, and Keyana Newsome (Wayne) of Erie, Pa.; two sons, Hardy Ray Goudy (Shara) of Erie, Pa., Tony E. Goudy ( Stephanie) of Conyers, GA; 16 grandchildren, one of whom she raised, Miquel Goudy of Erie, Pa.; 19 great-grandchildren; a sister, Bernadette Meyers ( Lincoln) of Cleveland, Ohio; a special uncle, Mr. Alvin Barnett (Hattie) of Erie, Pa.; and is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call at the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 901 E. 5th Street, on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., and are invited to attend a service there on Friday at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Anthony G. Harris officiating. Burial will be in Erie Cemetery. Arrangements under the care of Burton Funeral Home, Inc., 602 W. 10th Street, Erie, PA 16502.
