 LOVING MOTHER, GRANDMOTHER, GREAT GRANDMOTHER

Sara Helen Mortimer Potter, age 81, of Erie, passed away on Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at her home, surrounded by her family.

She was born on January 9, 1934 in Sprankle Mills, PA., a daughter of the late Purl and Sara Mauk Mortimer.

Sara graduated from Punxatawney High School in 1952. She was a member of Summit United Methodist Church.

She worked for 26 years at Erie Resistor which became Erie Technological Products, five years at Spectrum Control and at General Electric Company for many years until her retirement.

Sara loved playing cards, going to Bingo and spending time with her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Burnam “Bernie” Potter in 1992, a son Charles B. Potter, a daughter, Sharon Hiles, and two sisters, Pauline Bender and Blanche Shaffer.

She is survived by a son; Kenneth A. Potter of Erie; five daughters, Lynette Edwards (Al) of Erie, Debbie Potter, Lori Regal (John), Lisa Potter all of Erie, and Beverly Roberts (Mark), of NC; 12 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; two sisters, Maxine Murray, and Linda Mortimer; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Burton Westlake Funeral Home 3801 W. 26th Street (at Powell Ave) on Friday from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to attend a services there on Saturday at11:00 a.m. Burial to follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
