Sandra Koket

Sandra Jean Koket, age 77, of Erie, passed away Friday, February 4, 2022, at her residence.  Born on July 7, 1944, in Rochester, NY, she was the beloved daughter of the late Phillip and Ester (Brandt) Sterner, loving mother of Michael (Candy) Koket, Matthew (Linda) Koket and Alicia Koket, and adoring grandmother of Nicholas, Joshua, Lukas, Mia and Brianna Koket, all of Erie.

Sandi’s devotion to her family was evident in everything she did.  After graduating from McDowell High School, she married the love of her life, the late George “Tweed” Koket.  After years of hard work and dedication, together they founded their family company, GeorgeKo Industries, which is still operated by their children today.  Her family was always at the heart of her life, hosting countless holiday dinners and pool parties at her home.  Her loving reach did not stop with family as she had countless friends that she considered extended family.  As a lifetime member of the Sportsman’s Club and an avid golfer, she earned the loving title of “Mumma” from all those lucky enough to have been in her circle.  Everyone always had a home with Sandi, and she will be greatly missed.

In addition to her children and grandchildren, Sandi is survived by her brother, Phil (Karen) Sterner, of Union Hall, Virginia, several nieces, nephews, numerous friends, and her faithful bird, Dutch.  Three special long-time friends, Faye Descamps, Paul Gibbens and Leanna Robbins are also left to cherish her memory.

She is also preceded in death by her sister, Virginia Johnson, whom she greatly missed over the last 10 months.
