Sandra LaJohn Barry

Sandra LaJohn Barry passed away peacefully on Friday, November 8, 2024 with her son Frederick by her side after a lengthy illness. She was born August 3, 1947 in Erie the daughter of the late Fred J. and Dorothy (Smith) LaJohn.

"This is the Day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it." Psalm 118:24

 Sandy said and started every day with this Psalm and they were words that she lived by.

Sandy was a proud alum of the Class of 1965 at Villa Maria Academy and an alumnus of Robert Morris College of Business. 

She worked as a secretary for the City of Erie Parks Department after graduation. Then worked for the family business during the busy season at Fred LaJohn Investments in Erie for over twenty years as a bookkeeper.

Sandy embraced her Italian heritage with her cooking and was well known for her Sicilian Pizza that would sell out every time it was offered at Chuck & Ginnys and The La Nuova Aurora Club in the early 90's. She was a devoted Christian and a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church. She enjoyed playing bingo, finding the rare gems at second hand stores, and cooking for friends and family. Nobody left Sandy's home hungry, she fed everyone and enjoyed it.

She was a member of the Robert Morris University Alunmi Association, the La Nuova Aurora Society of Erie, the Erie American Legion and VFW Auxiliaries, along with Erie Christian Women’s club.

Sandy was preceded in death by her parents Fred & Dorothy LaJohn; a sister, Katherine LaJohn Bills, and her husband of 45 years, Edward E. Barry who died in 2014.

She is survived by her son, Frederick Barry of Pittsburgh and several nieces.

Friends are invited to call at the Burton Quinn Scott Cremation and Funeral Services,West Ridge, 3801 W.26th St. on Saturday, November 16, 2024 from 9:00 am until 11:00am at which time Funeral Services will be held. Burial will be in Trinity Cemetery.
