Sandra Armstrong

Sandra Kay Armstrong, age 77, of Erie, went home to be with the Lord, December 6, 2021 at Edinboro Manor.

She was born in Kane, PA on May 3, 1944, a daughter of the late Vaughn Lee Forsyth and Kathryn Rankin Forsyth Ressler.

Sandra graduated from Kane Area High School. She loved racing and was a “race chaser.” She and her husband, Joseph enjoyed traveling to dirt track races in their customized conversion van.  Sandra also enjoyed traveling to Branson, Missouri and loved to go camping. Her favorite was her obligatory stop to Texas Hot.  She liked to go to church and enjoyed playing cards and spending time with her grandson Joshie.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Andrew Armstrong, a sibling, Kathy Jane Forsyth and an aunt, Dorothy Rankin.

She is survived by her husband, Joseph Armstrong; two children, Leslie (Nicholas Vanderhoof) Armstrong and Joseph (Marlana Carlucci) Armstrong; four grandchildren, Jenna (Ryan DiDomenico) Karmazin, and Jacob, Kira and Mathias Armstrong; and eight siblings, Kenneth Forsyth, Mary (Seth) Bloomquist, John (Debbie) Forsyth, Darlene (Jerry) Lyons, Dorothy (Jim) Harrold, Bill (Nadine) Ressler, Carol Sunda and Donna (John) Diehl. Many nieces, nephews and cousins further survive.

Friends may call at Burton Quinn Scott Cremation and Funeral Services, Inc., Wintergreen, 2532 Norcross Road, on Friday, December 10, 2021 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and are invited to attend a graveside service on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.

Burial will be in Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the nursing staff at Edinboro Manor for the friendship and compassionate care they gave to Sandy.  They are forever indebted and grateful.
