Samuel Schmidt

Samuel E. Schmidt age 81, of Erie passed away quietly on March 23, 2017 at Walnut Creek Health Care.

He was born on December 25, 1935 a son of the late Edward and Margaret

Ellar Schmidt.

He graduated from Cathedral Prep in Erie and went on to serve in the United States Army.

Sam worked for Loblaws Incorporated as an assistant manager for over 25 year and was a Pastor of Living Word Fellowship, and as of late was a member of Erie Christian Fellowship, where he belonged for many years.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Lou Schmidt and a son Edward A. Schmidt.

He is survived by his wife of over 30 years Maureen Whalen Schmidt, a daughter Anne

Marie Fitzsimmons and her husband Steven of Waterford, four step sons; Johnathan Rossi, Jeffery Rossi, Christain Rossi and Joshua Rossi.

Four Step daughters; Lisa Rossi Sinciki, Joannah Rossi Bushwack, Heather Rossi Witherow and Ruth Rossi Alicea. Sam is further survived by 23 grandchildren.

Friends may call at the Burton Wintergreen Funeral Home, 2532 Norcross Road on Monday from 2:00 pm until the time of services there at 5:00 pm with Reverend James Dumont officiating.
