Samuel B. Alloway, Jr., age 78, of Erie passed away on Friday, September 20, 2013 at UPMC Hamot.
He was born in Erie, PA on July 29, 1935, the son of the late Samuel B. and Emma Oberg Alloway.
He graduated from the University Of Pittsburgh School Of Pharmacy, later owning and operating Alloway’s Drug Store.
He was a member of PHI DELTA CHI, professional pharmacy fraternity, and the Perry Keystone Lodge # 392 F.&A.M. He also enjoyed music and loved his dogs.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Roberta Bertelsen.
Survivors include his sons, David C. Alloway and his wife Lynn, and Thomas S. Alloway and his wife Anita, both of Erie; and a daughter, Carol L. Alloway of Erie. He is further survived by two grandchildren, Dave and Jen Alloway and Jessica Alloway and Rich Bret; six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Burton Westlake Funeral Home 3801 West 26th Street, Erie PA 16506 on Sunday from 3 to 7pm. and are invited to a service there on Monday at 11:00am with Rev. Dan Owen officiating.
Burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
