Sam Novello

Sam J. Novello age 87 of Erie, passed away peacefully in his own home on Saturday, December 12, 2020.

He was born in Erie, PA on October 14, 1933 a son of the late Patsy and Delphine Turano Novello.


He was a 1951graduate of Cathedral Prep in Erie and attended Gannon University for drafting and blue print
orientation. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.


Sam worked for Autoclave Engineering for over 30 years as manager of assembly and shipping, retiring in
1988.


He is a member of St. Judes the Apostle Catholic Church and a life member of the Nautilus Fitness Club,
where he was a friend to many, a member of Erie Maennerchor, Edinboro VFW, Millcreek American
Legion, and Sportsman Club.


Sam loved life and made friends everywhere. He enjoyed traveling with his wife. In addition to his parents,
he is preceded in death by a brother James V. Novello; a brother-in-law, Richard Lynch of Erie; a sister-in law, Mary Novello of Reno; and a son-in-law Keith Kinder of Seattle.


He is survived by his wife, Lavon Kehoe Novello, whom he married June 20, 1977; two daughters: Patricia Ann Landis and her husband Jerry of Union City, PA; Deborah Lynn Vroman and her husband Kirk of Millcreek; two stepdaughters: Grace Ann Bahandari and her husband Ardeshir; Ginnie Lee Kindler, of Seattle, WA; a stepson Durant M. Hehr, Jr. and his wife Laura, of Tacoma, WA; a brother Norman Novello of Reno, Nevada; a sister Madeline Lynch of Erie; 12 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.


Arrangements entrusted to the Burton Quinn Scott West Ridge, 3801 West 26th St. Erie.


Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery with full Military Honors.
