Sally A. (Kalista) Klan, age 75,of Erie, went peacefully to be with the Lord, with her family by her side, on Friday June 14, 2013, at Hamot UPMC, following a brief illness.
She was born on March 16, 1938 in Erie, PA, daughter of the late Edmund and Dolores (Chudzicki) Kalista. She graduated from East High School in 1956 and retired from Erie Insurance Exchange. Sally was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church and the Red Hat Society. She was loved by all, and enjoyed shopping, crafts, and her roses.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley A. Klan, and her sister, Mary Jo Newcomer. She is survived by a son, Mark D. Klan, and his fiancé, Theresa, from Erie, two grandsons, Zachary and Timothy Klan, of Erie, and three sisters: Rose Marie (and Dan) Jaroszewski, of Buffalo, NY, Norma Jean ( and David) Jaroszewski, and Susan (and Wayne) Kidd, of Erie, PA. She will also be missed by Kayla Joslin, whom she considered her granddaughter, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Friends may call on Monday, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm at the Burton West Lake Funeral Home 3801 West 26th Street (at Powell Ave) and are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday at 10:00am at St. Ann’s Catholic Church 921 East Ave. Erie, PA 16503.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family in care of Burton Westlake Funeral Home.
