Ruth Allen Sheasley of Erie, PA went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 24th. Her passing was peaceful after a short stay with LECOM Presque Isle Rehabilitation Visiting Nurses Hospice Care.
She was proceeded in death by her husband of 67 years C. Lewis. She is survived by her sons Allen E. and J. Richard Sheasley, several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Ruth was the only child of W. Russell and Alice Howells Allen, born on Aug 28, 1932, in New Castle, PA. She graduated from New Castle High School in 1951. Then, she attended Penn State University where she met her future husband. She also studied Fashion Design for a year in New York City. They were married in the Spring of 1955. She lived in New Castle, PA raising her young family until 1967, when the family moved to Erie.
For several years, she worked in the family business, Accuprint, before her disability and retiring. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of the Covenant, serving as a deacon. In addition, she was involved in Welcome Wagon of Erie, and Coterie Club. Her hobbies included playing bridge, cooking, gardening, and sewing.
There will be a visitation on Wednesday, Nov. 29th, at the Burton Quinn Scott Funeral Home, 602 W. 10th St, Erie from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm and on Thursday Nov. 30 at the First Presbyterian Church of the Covenant, 250 W. 7th St., Erie, PA beginning at 10:00 am., to be followed immediately with a service celebrating her life at 11:00 am.
The family is requesting no flowers, instead memorial donations can be made to First Presbyterian Church of the Covenant, 250 W. 7th St, Erie, PA 16501, or to a charity of your choice.
