Ruth Elmira Field, 96, died December 26, 2022, in Girard, Pennsylvania. Ruth was born in Albion, Pennsylvania, on November 23, 1926, to Earl Kier Davis and Bertha Sophia Rausch Davis.
Ruth was a loving mother and homemaker. An avid quilt maker and her piece work was beautiful. Ruth served as a volunteer for Project Linus of NWPA and handcrafted baby quilts for newborns. She was also a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Girard.
In addition to her parents, Ruth is preceded in death by her first husband, Fred Grate, Jr. and their son, Donald Lee Grate; and a second husband, Robert L. Field, and two sons, Jack Alan Field and Richard E. Field.
Ruth is also preceded in death by a brother, Earl Kier Davis, Jr.; a sister, Mary Lou Giffin; and brother, William J. Davis.
Ruth is survived by her daughter, Shelly K. Miller, and her companion, Jackie A. Meinhart, of Erie; four sons, Robert W. Field (Stephanie), of Phoenix, AZ, Edwin A. Field, of Clayton, Al, James A. Field (Penny), of East Springfield, and Kelly J. Field and his companion Michele, of Lake City.
Ruth is also survived by sisters, Betty Glarner, of Monroeville, PA, Sheila Way and Shirley Rushworth, both of Albion, PA. Many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren are left to remember Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Aunt Jen will be missed.
Friends are invited to call at the Burton Funeral Home, 525 Main Street East, on Friday, December 30, 2022, from 10:00 A.M. until time of service at 12:00 P.M. with Burial following at Springboro Cemetery.
