Ruth Demichele

Ruth (Staynoff) DeMichele, age 85, of Erie passed away Sunday, June 24, 2018 at Manchester Commons surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 18, 1933 in Erie the daughter of the late Harry and Nellie Laskoff Staynoff. She was a 1952 graduate of East High School.
Ruth worked at several Erie department stores including Halles and the Boston Store and later worked for the Erie School District. She loved to read, play cards, and travel, and was very proud to have belonged to a “ladies card club” for over 50 years.

Besides her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Pete DeMichele, and her sister Marlene Straus.

Ruth is survived by her children, Dennis DeMichele and his wife Joyce of Erie; David DeMichele of Erie; and Diane Riazzi and her husband Rocco of Fairview. She is also survived by her sister, Beverly Kratz (John) of Columbus, OH and a brother Gary Staynoff (Lynn) of Waterford. She is the grandmother of Peter DeMichele (Amanda), Anthony DeMichele (Kathleen), and Laura Riazzi, and great-grandmother of Harper, Rowen, and Carter. She is further survived by her longtime best friend, Toni Oldach, along with many other friends and relatives.

Friends may call at the Quinn Funeral Home, West 9^th & Liberty St. on Thursday from 5:00pm until 8:00pm and are invited to attend Funeral Services there Friday at 11:00am. Burial will be at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
