Ruth N. Berringer

Ruth N. Berringer, age 93, of Millcreek, passed away on Sunday, May 7, 2023, at Pleasant Ridge Manor.

She was born in Amanda, OH on December 17, 1929, a daughter of the late Emery T. and Mary Brantingham Steele.

Ruth was a member of Weis Library United Methodist Church and the Weis Library United Methodist Woman’s Organization.

She was employed by the Green Shingle Restaurant for many years as a cashier.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in by her husband, Carey B. Berringer in 1999 and two brothers, William Steele and Paul Steele of Cincinnati, OH; three sisters, Wilda Hammer of Spruce Creek, PA, Barbara Carr, Atlanta, GA, and Mary J. Underwood, Chicago, IL; and a sister-in-law, Philomena Steele of Alliance, OH.

She is survived by two sons, Richard Bryant and his wife Karen of Arizona, Wayne Berringer and his wife Barbara of Erie; a daughter Carol Johnson of Georgia; three grandchildren, Jessica and Adam Bryant, Derrick Berringer and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Burton Quinn Scott Cremation and Funeral Services, West Ridge, 3801 W. 26th Street, Erie on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at 3:00 p.m.
Private burial will be in Weis Library Cemetery, Fairview.
