Russell Dicarlo

Russell DiCarlo, Jr., age 85, of Erie, PA passed away Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at home with his family at his side. He was born May 20, 1933 in Erie, PA, the son of the late Russell and Catherine (Panameroff) DiCarlo, Sr.

A lifelong resident of Erie, Russell had served with the US Air Force during the years 1953-1957 as an Air Force mechanic. Following his honorable discharge from the service, he had worked for General Telephone (GTE) and later for Verizon as both a mechanic and lineman. Following his retirement, he worked for many years with the Times Publishing Co. as a delivery person.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jeannette Alterio DiCarlo who died in 2008.

Russell is survived by his four children; Lauren Powell and her husband Michael of Columbus, OH; Jacqueline Vietmeier and her husband Gregory of Pittsburgh, PA; Russell E. DiCarlo of Austin, TX and Brian J. DiCarlo of Columbus, OH. Russell is also survived by his 6 grandchildren; Ryan Vietmeier, Danielle Vietmeier, Maria DiCarlo, Jace Powell, Angela Vietmeier, and Victoria Vietmeier.  He is also survived by two sisters, Lillian Foor and Dolores Fosco.

Friends are invited to call at the Quinn Funeral Home, West 9^th & Liberty St. St. on Saturday from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM at which time a Memorial Service will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in honor of Russell’s granddaughter Victoria Vietmeier to the Rettsyndrome.org, 4600 Devitt Dr., Cincinnati, OH 45246, or to the American Cancer Society, 2115 W.38^th St., Erie, PA 16508 in memory of Russell and Jeannette DiCarlo, Jr.
