Rudolph Mester age 80, formerly of Erie, Pa., died Thursday, December 6, 2012 at Med Central Hospital in Mansfield, Ohio.
He was born in Erie, Pa. on January 10, 1932 a son of the late John and Julia Tetar Mester.
He was a student at Strong Vincent High School and worked for many years as a contractor. He was a member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church and the Cascade Club. He loved picnics, fishing and fish frys.
In addition to his parents, Rudy was preceded in death by his wife Rosemary Hegadore Mester in 2006, two brothers: Steve Mester and John Mester, and four sisters: Margaret Zagczyk, Vera Banko, Eleanor Soety and Rose Bernath.
He is survived by five daughters; Cathy Balkovic and her husband Dean of Erie, Sherry Wagner and her husband William of Erie, Stephanie Tatara and her husband Daniel of Mansfield, Ohio, Julia Fuller and her husband Rodney of Erie and Elizabeth Pelliter and her husband Randy of New Hampshire, and a sister Pearl Nelson of Erie.
Friends may call on Sunday from 2:00 till 4:00 pm and 7:00 till 9:00 pm at Burton Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 602 West Tenth Street, Erie, Pa. 16502. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Andrew's Church, 1116 West 7th Street, Erie on Monday at 10:00 am with Father William J. O'Brien officiating.
Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
