Ruchshell “Tuffy” Simmons, age 51 of Erie, died at Golden Living Walnut Creek on December 30, 2017.
She was born in Erie on April 28, 1966, a daughter of the late Reverend Elijah King Salmon, and Gettie Mae Beason Woodard.
Ruchshell attended Strong Vincent High School. She enjoyed spending time with her family, telling jokes, cooking, and playing cards.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by sisters Carrie Simmons, Marchelle, and Elizabeth Woodard, and brother John Woodard.
Survivors include her daughter Quateshia Jacox; three sisters, Betty Woodard of Cleveland, Ohio, Pamela Simmons of Laurel, Miss., and her twin Charmelle Harris of St. Louis, Mo; four brothers, David (Brenda), Daren (Alicia), and Fred Woodard of Erie, and Doug Woodard of Johnstown, PA. Further surviving are ahost of nieces, nephews, and the Blanks family. The family would like to give special thanks to the Blanks family, and the staff at Great Lakes Hospice.
Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 602 West 10th Street on Friday January 5, 2018 from 10 am until the time of service at 11 am, with Overseer Danny Stanton presiding. Burial will follow in Lakeside Cemetery.
