Roxanne Swanson

September 30, 1960 — October 26, 2015

Roxanne B. Nunes Swanson age 55 of Millcreek, passed away Monday, October 26, 2015 following a courageous two-and-a-half-year battle with pancreatic cancer.

She was born in Erie on September 30, 1960 a daughter of Paul Nunes Sr. and the late Barbara Fries.

Roxanne was a graduate of Mercyhurst Prep and had worked at Erie Insurance for over 36 years in the Information Technology division providing technical support to the company’s Agency force. She was a wonderful mother to her three children, who meant the world to her. She and her family enjoyed boating on Lake Erie with all of their friends at Bay Harbor Marina. She also enjoyed drawing in the Art of Zentangle and she never missed the opportunity to spend time with her many friends while having a glass of her favorite wine, Pinot Grigio.

Besides her mother, she is preceded in death by an infant sister Maria Nunes.

In addition her father Paul Nunes, Sr. and Sally, she survived by her husband of 32 years, Rollin R. Swanson, a daughter Jillian Swanson; two twin sons: Cory and Dean Swanson; two brothers: Paul Nunes Jr. and Gerard Nunes and his wife Theresa; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Burton Westlake Funeral Home, 3801 West 26th St. Erie on Thursday and Friday from 4-7pm. a service will be held there with Msgr. Henry Kriegel celebrant. The Swanson family sincerely appreciates the support of the American Cancer Society, her many friends, family, and coworkers. Also for the phenomenal care she received at Hillman Cancer Center and the Regional Cancer. They would like to express their gratitude to all of the wonderful doctors and staff members who provided her with the love and care she needed to stay strong and positive through her battle.
