Rosey Warren

Rosey Melody Ponder Warren, age 83, 0f Erie, passed away Saturday, January 1, 2022 at St. Vincent Hospital.  She was born in Laurel MS, February 23, 1938, daughter of the late Willie R. Ponder and Bertha Lofton.

Rosey was a 1956 graduate of Altiar High School and worked as a security guard for 10 years Macy’s Department Store in New York City.  Later, Rosey worked in the X-ray department for Saint Vincent Hospital in Erie, PA for many years.  She enjoyed doing hair and make-up, visits to the casino and traveling. She loved to cook for others, especially her salmon patties and biscuits.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Willie Earl, John and Jackie Ponder and her sister, Lillian Ponder.

She is survived by her children, Robert Ray Warren, of Laurel MS, Binnie Ray Warren (Linda), of Edinboro, PA, Rose Warren Stapp and Charles Jeffrey (Ann) Warren, both of Erie, PA; her step-children, Kelvin, Marcia and Randell Warren; 7 grandchildren, Keyia Atkinson (Darren), Kelina White, Johnny Stapp, Jr., Kendra C. Warren, Charles G. Warren, Olivia Warren and Martin T. Warren and 6 great-grandchildren.  Further surviving are her siblings, Quincy Ponder, Anna Bell Ponder Nelson and Joan Ponder, of Las Vegas, NV, Stanley Ponder, Steve Ponder, Rosalyn White, of NJ, Odessa Ponder and Tony Ponder, along with many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at Abundant Life Ministries. 806 Parade St., Erie, on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 12 Noon.  Private burial will be in Erie Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the care of Burton Quinn Scott Cremation & Funeral Services Inc. Downtown, 602 W. 10^th St., Erie.
