Rosemary Neal

Rosemary B. Neal, age 93, of Erie, Pa, passed away on Tuesday, February 28, 2023.

Born in Erie to the late Clarence and Edith Weems Bennett, she was a graduate of Strong Vincent High School and a graduate of the Hamot School of Nursing. She was an avid Steeler’s fan, she stopped many people wearing Steelers clothing striking up conversations about Pittsburgh Steelers football.  She also enjoyed watching NASCAR, bus trips to the casino, and going to TOPS Friendly Market on East 38^th street, not just to grocery shop but to visit her many friends there.

Rosemary was an active parishioner of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church where she was engaged in various volunteer activities.

In addition to her parents, Rosemary was preceded in death by her husband Henry Neal, brother William Bennett, and granddaughter Tamika Patterson.

She is survived by her children George “Max” Vactor (Linda), Rebecca McCullum (Adrian), David Vactor, Rachel Patterson, Deborah Jones (Robert), Patricia Neal and Roderick Holmes, Michael Neal and Katie Silvagni, many grandchildren, and a few great grandchildren. Also, her best friend Sally Rudd and special friend Paul Nelson.

Friends may call at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 4701 Old French Rd, Erie, PA 16509 on Monday March 6, 2023 from 11am until the time of service at 1pm.  Burial to follow at Erie County Memorial Gardens.
