Rosebud Simonian

Rosebud Anne Simonian, age 88, of Erie, passed away Monday, June 23, 2014 at St. Mary’s at Asbury Ridge.

Born in Erie, on December 23, 1925, the daughter of the late Miran and Hannah Mourian Simonian.

She graduated from Strong Vincent High School and attended Behrend College. Throughout her career, Rosebud worked as a secretary and was employed with General Electric, Continental Rubber, Perkins and East Erie Turners. She attended Luther Memorial Church and was an Eastern Star (Worthy Matron). Rosebud also enjoyed painting (oils and water colors), took in and cared for many stray cats, fed birds and was also an avid stamp and antique collector. Her favorite interest and activity was the stock market. Rosebud was a very avid investor. She read the Wall Street Journal and did her own stock market analysis daily.

In addition to her parents, Rosebud was preceded in death by her sister, Rose Nichols; brother-in- law, Robert Nichols; brothers, Charles G. and Moorehead “Moose” Simonian; sister-in-law, Ruth Simonian; nephew, Charles M. Simonian.

Rosebud is survived by her brothers, Toros Simonian of Erie, Ara (Cheryl) Simonian of Fairport, NY; sister-in-laws, Mary Simonian of Erie and Audrey Simonian of Edinboro. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, many great and great-great nieces and nephews.

Friends may attend a funeral service on Tuesday, July 1st at St. Mary’s at Asbury Ridge, 4855 W. Ridge Rd., at 1:00 p.m. with the Reverend William Coleman officiating.

Burial will follow at Erie Cemetery.
