Rose Hill

Rose M. Hill, age 94, a resident of Erie, went to be with our Lord January 24, 2022 at UPMC Hamot Hospital in Erie, PA.  She was born May 3, 1927 in Corydon, PA, the daughter of the late Angelo (Nicotera) Collins and Marie Hau Collins.

Rose was a graduate of Academy High School and had a full and varied career life, beginning at American Meters and including the Niagara Hotel, and retiring from business management and ownership of the 97 Grocer. 

After retirement Rose enjoyed cooking, gardening, current events, and staying in contact with family and friends.  She also enjoyed researching her home town of Corydon, which is now the site of the Kinzua Dam.

Besides her parents, Rose was preceded in death by brothers, William and Lawrence and grandson, Anthony. 

Rose is survived by two daughters, Suzanne Jones, of NC, husband Greg and grandson, Brandon (Abigail); and Nancy Kierzek, of Erie.  She is also survived by brothers, Robert Collins (Helen), of Erie and T. Vince Collins (Dorothy), of Spokane, WA as well as 22 nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sarah Reed Senior Living Center, 227 W. 22^nd Street, Erie, PA 16502.  A Celebration of Life service will be held this coming May.  Arrangements are under the care of the Quinn Funeral Home, 728 W. 9th St., Erie.
