Rose Marie Agnello DiTullio, age 86, passed away peacefully Thursday, September 15, 2016 from a brief illness while surrounded by her family.
Rose was born in Erie on July 31, 1930 to John and Josephine Verga Agnello of Villa Praiola, Sicily. She graduated from Strong Vincent High School in 1948, and worked at GTE Corporation for 24 years before retiring in 1994. She attended St. Paul’s RC Church and was an active and dedicated member of the Italian American Women’s Association,
In addition to her parents, Rose was preceded in death by her husband Richard, age 56, in 1977. She then single-handedly raised and maintained her family of six children.
Rose was an excellent homemaker, renowned for her traditional Italian cooking and baked goods (most notably her meatballs and fig cookies). She loved to entertain her family and friends – her home was a welcoming holiday destination to loved ones for many years.
Rose’s genuine nature and loving personality was infectious. She would light up a room with her smile and sparkle in her eyes.
