Rose M. Brown, age 76, of Erie died on February 13, 2019 at her home.
She was the daughter of the late Roy and Myrtle Conklin, and was born in Youngsville, PA on July 21, 1942. She graduated from Warren High School in 1960.
She enjoyed her cats, Smokey and Nutmeg, volunteering at Asbury Woods Nature Centre, bowling with friends, gardening, walking at Presque Isle, and activities at the JOY Center. Rose was a longtime member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and more recently attended First Alliance Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband John “Nick” Alfieri and her second husband Jerry Brown, who was the love of her life. Her sister, Patricia Nelson and two brothers, Terry Conklin and Albert Conklin, also preceded her in death.
Survivors include her daughter, Joanne Kaufmann and her husband Kris of Pittsburgh; her sister, Betty Lou Conklin of Warren, PA; her nephew, Robert Brown and his wife Carrin of Erie and a niece, Mary Kreger and her husband Ray of Erie. Rose is further survived by close friends, Paula Hilbert and Carol Fetzner, who can best be described as family.
Friends may call at the Burton Westlake Funeral Home, 3801 West 26th Street, (at Powell Avenue,) on Monday, February 18, 2019 from 11 am until the time of service there at 1 p.m. Private inurnment will take place at a later date at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
