Rose M. Conners Boyd age 85, of Erie, passed away Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at St. Vincent Health Center following a brief illness.
She was born in Erie on October 7, 1927 a daughter of the late William and Mary Hopkins Conners.
Rose graduated from East High School.
She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.
Rose loved to play bingo, enjoyed watching movies, reading, and loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of over 60 years Kenneth Boyd; two sisters, Edith Weunski and Margaret Matters and three brothers, Jack, Bill, and Dick Conners.
Rose is survived by her three children; Connie Rozumalski and her husband David of Seattle, WA, Peggy Ellis and her husband James of Corning, NY, and Kenneth Boyd and his wife Jackie of Erie; three sisters, Kay Counts, Dorothy King and Betty Bombash; 5 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren and an “adopted” great grandchild Josh. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Burton Westlake Funeral Home 3801 W. 26th Street, on Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. and are invited to attend a service there on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Michelle Wobrak officiating. Burial to follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
