Rosanne M. Sorze Alesso, age 74, of Erie, passed away Friday, January 19, 2018, after a prolonged illness. She was born in Erie on December 24, 1943, daughter of the late Joseph J. and Rose Sorze (Bent).
Rosanne graduated from St. Andrew’s grade school, ‘57, and Villa Maria Academy, ‘61. She had worked as the secretary to the Dean of Student Affairs at Penn State Behrend and secretary of the Engineering Department at SUNY Alfred, as well as at Charlie’s Sewing and Craft Store, where she fed her love of crafting and sewing. She also enjoyed creating music as a wonderful pianist and singer. She was an active volunteer the the Boy Scouts and at the parish of SS. Brendan and Jude Church in Alfred, New York, creating many of the banners displayed in the worship space.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Philip F. Alesso, who together were active in Marriage Encounter during their years in Alfred. She is also survived by her son, Andrew P. Alesso (Jessica), of Fairview, PA, and her daughter, Suzanne M. Alesso, of Rochester, MI, and two grandsons, Joseph P. Alesso of Rochester, MI, and Daniel P. Alesso, of Fairview, PA.
Family and friends may call at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 7100 West Ridge Road, Fairview, PA on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM; and Wednesday, January 24, 2018, from 9:00 AM until the time of the Funeral Mass at 10 AM with Fr.
