Rosalyn Baker

Rosalyn G. Baker age 83 of Erie, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at Baltimore Washington Medical Center in Maryland. She was born in Erie, PA on September 18, 1933 a daughter of the late Jack Brooks and Thelma Spearmen. She graduated from Strong Vincent High School and worked in manufacturing at Marx Toy Company and then as a secretary for the PA Department of Community Affairs for many years.

Rosalyn was a dedicated member of Believers International Worship Center, Inc. Affectionatelty referred to as "Peggy" or "Ma Baker", Rosalyn served as a member and president of both Women's Aglow and Beauty for Ashes Women's Ministry. An ardent prayer warrior, she was pasionate in her prayer for the hurt, broken, oppressed, and lost. Rosalyn had special skills in sewing, decorating cakes, knitting, crossword puzzles and loved to follow court television.

In addition to her parents and husband Willie L. Baker, Rosalyn was preceded in death by a brother Fred Members. Rosalyn is survived by five sons; Blaine A. Baker of Erie, Terry A. Baker (Clarrisa) of Waterford, PA, Parris J. Baker (Brenda), Eric S. Baker (Marla) and Darren S. Baker all of Erie and a special granddaughter Latisha Abigail Baker whom she raised. She is also survived by her sister, Eleanor McKnight, and her very dear friend Vernice Howard; along with many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Friends and family may call at the Greater Calvary Full Gospel Baptist Church, 2624 German St., Erie, PA 16504 on Sunday from 4:00pm-8:00pm and are invited to attend a funeral service on Monday at 11:00am at the Greater Calvary Full Gospel Baptist Church with Bishop Jesse Gavin officiating. Burial at Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Believers International Worship Center, 154 East 21st Street, Erie, PA 16503.
