Rosalie Mattocks

Rosalie Gorzynski Mattocks, age 76, of Erie, died on Sunday November 30, 2014 at Golden Living Center Walnut Creek. She was born in Erie on August 23, 1938, a daughter of the late Joseph and Rose Habczyk Gorzynski.

Rosalie graduated from St. Stanislaus Grade School and St. Benedict Academy High School. She worked in the downtown Erie Boston Store until she was hired by Hammermill Paper and eventually retired from International Paper after more than 25 years.

She was an avid reader, enjoyed painting, but more than anything cherished all of the years and time spent with her loving family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson Kevin Mattocks.

She is survived by two daughters Darcy Mattocks and Deborah (Stephen) Shelton, all of Erie; eight grandchildren; a sister Frances (Ronald) Rectenwald, of Erie, and several nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to call on the family from 5pm until the time of the service at 8pm with Reverend Michael DeMartinis on Wednesday Dec. 3 at Burton Westlake Funeral Home, 3801 W. 26th Street (at Powell Ave.). Inurnment will be Thursday Dec. 4 at 11am in Calvary Cemetery.
