Ronald R. Wells, age 72, of Erie, passed away Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at St. Vincent Hospital, surrounded by family.
He was born in Erie on December 20, 1950, a son to the late Howard Wells and Virginia Woods.
Ron attended McDowell High School and worked as a Quality Control Inspector for many years, traveling to many places including South Korea, Ghana, Africa, Russia and Pakistan. He loved cars, especially yellow corvettes, attending car shows, and had a collection of model cars. He won several awards for cleanest corvette. Ron was known as ‘Race Car Ron’ by many people for attending “Buggin’ State”, a burn out a race up the hill of State Street. He also enjoyed biking and cross country skiing.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his stepfather, Russell Walters; a grandson, Ryan Wells; a brother, Eddie Wells; and a brother-in-law, Tom Trexler.
He is survived by two daughters, Veronica Wells (Chuck) and Jessica Fehl (Rob); four grandchildren, Hunter Fehl (Mollee), Ella Fehl, Austin Zimmer, and Zackary Wells (Damenica); four great-grandchildren, Brenton, Bryton, Bearon, and Joyann Wells; two sisters, Verna Trexler and Bonnie Johnson (Doug); two step-sisters, Alice Babe and Tomijean Wuerstle (Tom). He is further survived by many nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are entrusted to Burton Quinn-Scott Funeral Home, West Ridge, 3801 West 26th St., Erie.
