Ronald Kopnitsky

Ronald F. Kopnitsky, age 60, passed away peacefully Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at UPMC Hamot. He was born July 24, 1962 in Erie the son of Donald and Geraldine (McGlumphy) Kopnitsky.

Ron was a 1981 graduate of Strong Vincent High School and became a commercial printer having owned his own business, Royal Printing, and later worked for other area printing companies. After retiring from the printing business, he was a manager with Sunshine Cleaning Co. He will be remembered for his clever wit and mentoring of others. Always on the go, Ron loved music having learned to play the guitar and harmonica, and also enjoyed the game of golf. His two greatest hobbies were playing pool especially at the Sunflower club and bowling both ten pins and duck pins at the Erie Maennerchor club. He loved to watch sports, and his favorites teams were the Detroit Tigers in baseball and the Kansas City Chiefs in football.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Joyce Barron.

He is survived by a daughter, Tina Jones; two sisters, Dawn Kraft (Otto) and Sandy McLaughlin (Dave) and a brother, Jim Kopnitsky, all of Erie. He was the proud uncle of David, Steven, and Samantha and their families. He also leaves behind many dear cousins and friends.

Friends are invited to attend a Committal Service Monday, October 31, 2022 at 12 noon in the chapel of Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 5711 West Lake Rd.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Erie Humane Society, 2497 Zimmerly Rd., Erie, PA 16506 or to Voices for Independence, 1432 Wilkins Rd., Erie, PA 16505.
