Ronald Eldridge

Ronald O. Eldridge, age 73, of West Springfield, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, September 1, 2016 at St. Vincent Health Center.

He was born in Erie on July 15, 1943, a son of the late Orrie F. Eldridge and Mary Hain Eldridge Thornton.

Ron graduated from East High School in 1961 and worked as a machinist at A.O. Smith/Smith Meter/F.M.C. in Erie for many years.

He had been a member of St. Lawrence Church and the Knights of Columbus in Albion. Ron made rosaries as his mission and they were sent all over the world. He enjoyed throwing horse shoes, target shooting and was an avid Cleveland Browns fan. He loved wood working and carpentry. Ron was a member of A.A. for 27 years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son in law, Martin Klaus, a brother, Larry F. and a good friend, Bill W.

He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Patricia Haskell Eldridge; four daughters: Tina L. Klaus of W. Springfield, Sheila A. Koper of Burgettstown, Christine R. Kleckner of Saegertown and Julie L. Deutsch and her husband, Rick of Royal Palm Beach, FL. Ron is further survived by seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Friends and family may call at the Burton Funeral Home, 525 Main St. East, Girard on Monday from 4-7 pm and may attend a Graveside Service on Tuesday at 1 pm at Springfield Cemetery.
