Ronal Samuel Mangine age 78, of Fairview, PA, formerly of Lowellville, Ohio was carried by his guardian angel to be placed into the loving arms of his Friend and Savior, Jesus on Wednesday, August 24, 2022. Ron was born on May 7, 1944 in Youngstown, Ohio the son of his late loving parents Ursula "Lena" (Zona) Mangine and Ernest David Mangine.
Ron graduated from Lowellville High School, received his Bachelor’s degree from Youngstown State University, Master’s degree from Shippensburg State University and graduate certification in Christian Spiritual Guidance from the Shalem Institute for Spiritual Formation.
Ron worked in the healthcare profession for over 40 years. In the last 15 years of his career, he was employed by General Electric in Erie, PA as Regional Healthcare Manager. Ron always had a calling to aviation. In high school he joined the Civil Air Patrol as a cadet where he received basic flight training. He then served in the Ohio Air National Guard and later flew missions as a volunteer pilot in the Air Force Auxiliary. As Ron’s Christian faith matured, he received a call from the Holy Spirit to become a trained spiritual guide. With that accomplished, his ministry became helping others develop a deeper intimacy with Jesus.
Ron was a member of Saint Patrick Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.
Ron is survived by the love and joy of his life, his wife of 53 years, Sue Ann (Jordan) Mangine; by three beloved children; Christopher Mangine of Frederick, MD., Nichole Mangine of Hawaii, Marcus Mangine of Asheville, NC.; his sister Marie Vokish, niece Teresa Vokish of Pittsburgh, PA, and brother-in-law Douglas Jordan of Carey, Ohio.
Friends are invited to a Funeral Mass on Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick Church 130 E. 4th Street, Erie, PA 16507 and can be viewed via livestream at https://www.facebook.com/BurtonQuinnScott/. Interment will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery followed by a luncheon at the Colony Pub 2670 W. 8th Street, Erie, PA 16505.
