Roger Partsch, Sr.

May 3, 1955 — June 13, 2016

Roger W. Partsch, Sr., 61, of Erie, died on Monday, June 13, 2016, at St. Vincent Hospital.  He was born on May 3, 1955, in Erie, son of the late Mary Marsh and Charles F. Armagost.  A 1974 graduate of Tech Memorial High School, he worked for General Electric Corp. for 35 years retiring in 2009.  Roger had many interests.  He coached boys baseball in Erie, held a pre-patent on Asian carp control in all fresh water lakes, and following retirement studied and enjoyed oil painting.  He also enjoyed gardening and yard work.  Roger was a loving husband and father, devoted brother, active grandfather, and wonderful caregiver for his father-in-law Tony.

Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Tina M. Brown Partsch; three sons, Daniel W. Schenk and wife Carrie, Roger W. Partsch, Jr. and wife Jovieta and Larry A. Gannoe II; two daughters, Mary Patricia Partsch and Jennifer L. Gannoe; three sisters, Jane Baker, Linda Mikolajczyk and Patricia Armagost Dunn and husband Bob; two brothers, Bruce Kephart and Timothy Partsch; nine grandsons, Corbin, Roger III, Brennen, Zeph, Tywonn, Kyle, Nate, Corey and Austin; three granddaughters, Juliann, Nezi and Alyssa; a great-grandson, Tywonn; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Rosemary Kephart and a brother-in-law, Joseph Mikolajczyk.

Friends may call Friday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Scott Funeral Home, 2104 Myrtle Street.  A service will be held there Saturday at 11 a.m. with Roger's grandson, Corey Moffett, Jr., officiating.  Burial will be at Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
