Roger J. “Jack” Loop, 67, of Houston Texas and formerly of Erie, passed away last year on December 19, 2003, following an extended illness. Born in Lake Pleasant on October 18, 1936. Son of the late Norman and Myrtle Loop. A graduate of the American School of Electronics and Television. He worked in the electronic motor repair and manufacturing industry for 40 years. He began his career in the late 1950’s with Marathon Electric, Wausau, WI. In the sixties, he was with Reliance Electric Company, Ashtabula, OH. Spending the seventies at Allen Industries (later to become Armor Electric Co.) in Erie, PA. He began the 1980’s with Siemens Service Co., Erie, PA. In 1981 he was with Toshiba Int’l Corp., Houston, TX. His final place of employment was with Pennsylvania Electric Motor Service, Erie, PA leaving there in 2002 due to illness. In the 70’s owned and operated two pizza shops, Girard Pizza and Albion Pizza. Roger’s (Jack’s) passion was to tour on his motorcycle. Riding with various groups in the area. Preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Willis, Norman “Earl”, Donald and Francis “Neal” Loop. Survived by his four children and their spouses. Susan of Ohio, Gregory of California, Leanne of Texas and Kristen of Texas.; two brothers, Lawrence “Bud” Loop, of Erie, PA and Glenn Loop of Virginia. He had 6 grandchildren. Friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Burton Funeral Home’s Whispering Pines Cremation Garden, 2532 Norcross Road. Pastor Don Harris of the House of Prayer, Montpelier, OH will be officiating. (Wed-11)
