Roberta Demyanick "Birtie"

Roberta M. Demyanick “Birtie”, age 80, of Erie, passed away Thursday, March 18, 2021  after a brief illness, at St. Vincent Hospital.

She was born in Buffalo, NY on June 17, 1940, a daughter of the late William and Alice Jozwiak Demyanick.

Roberta relocated to Erie in the late 50’s, where she worked at Marx Toys and Lovells.  Later in life she was a motel manager.  Roberta raised her children on her own.  She taught them great work ethic and gave all her love to them.

She enjoyed writing poems and songs; dancing singing and playing Bingo. Roberta was her friends “counselor”.  Along with being an outgoing and loving person, she had an infectious smile and beautiful blue eyes.  She was loved whole heartedly by her family, especially her children.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step father that raised her, Thomas Voight and four siblings, Alice, Richard, Daniel and fraternal twin, Robert Demyanick.

Roberta is survived by five children: Denise (Alan) Baumann, Dennis Olson, Sharon (Scott) Swanseger, Linda (Matt) Palas and Laura Shriver; two grandchildren, Roxanne (Allen) Strange and Brittney (Stephen) Fuhrman and seven great grandchildren, Malachi, Johnny, Adriana, Sadie, Alicia, Annabelle and Theodore; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends.

Friends may call at the Burton Quinn Scott Cremation and Funeral Services, at West Ridge, 3801 W. 26^th St., Erie on Sunday, March 21^st from 2 pm until the time of the service at 5pm with Father Mike DeMartinis officiating.  All CDC guidelines including wearing masks, capacity limits and social distancing will be followed.

Private burial at Erie Cemetery.
