Roberta L. Crosby, 102 formerly of 1914 June Street, resident of Western Reserve Healthcare for 5 years. Mrs. Crosby was called home to be with the LORD on Sunday, October 8, 2017.
She was born in Lake Coma, Mississippi on July 29, 1915 daughter of the late Robert and Phillis Hachet Laster.
Mrs. Crosby had worked at both the Continental Rubber Corporation and at the Erie General Electric Company as a machine operator.
She was an active member of Shiloh Baptist Church for over 60 years, until health conditions limited her service.
Mrs. Crosby was ordained as a Deaconess at Shiloh in 1961, and served in the church’s Missionary Ministry. She had worked with the JFK Senior Citizens Group and was an avid gardener.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ulysses Crosby; six brothers; Robert Laster, Dezzie Laster, Joseph Laster, Aaron Laster, McKinley Laster and Douglas Laster; four sisters; Willie Lee Smith, Jessie Cross, Robbie Laster and Elizabeth Harris, and brother-in-law Henry Crosby.
She is survived by survived by several nieces and nephews, cousins, three godchildren, church family, and her special cousin/caregiver, Mrs. Mildred Darby.
Friends may call at the Shiloh Baptist Church, 901 East 5th Street on Monday, October 16, 2017 from 10 a.m. until the service at 12 p.m.
Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery.
